New Jersey Begs SCOTUS to Help Keep Their Unconstitutional Gun Ban Alive

October 15, 2026

Look, I've said it before and I'll say it again - New Jersey might as well be a different country when it comes to how they treat the Second Amendment. The Garden State has been on a decades-long crusade to strip away our rights, and apparently they just can't accept when the courts tell them they're breaking the law.

Here's the latest installment of "New Jersey vs. The Constitution": The state is now asking the Supreme Court to take another look at their infamous assault weapon and magazine ban - a law they already lost on. That's right, after getting smacked down by the courts, they're going back to the well hoping for a different result.

This is the same state, mind you, that treats law-abiding citizens like criminals for owning perfectly legal firearms elsewhere in the country. They've got some of the strictest gun laws in America, and apparently that's still not enough for the anti-gun crowd in Trenton.

But here's what gets me - they actually think the Supreme Court is going to help them keep violating our rights. The writing's been on the wall for years now. Since the Bruen decision, courts across the country have been striking down these ridiculous bans because, surprise surprise, the Founders didn't write the Second Amendment to include exceptions for "assault weapons" or magazine limits.

New Jersey's attorney general is claiming they need another bite at the apple, probably hoping for a more favorable court composition. But that's not how constitutional law works - or at least how it shouldn't work.

The reality is these politicians know their ban is toast. They lost in the lower courts, and they're scrambling to find any way to keep their gun-grabbing legacy alive. It's a desperate move from a state that simply doesn't respect the fundamental right to self-defense.

For folks in New Jersey - and honestly, everywhere - this should be a reminder: the fight never ends. They will keep trying to chip away at our rights through the courts, through legislation, through every backdoor method they can find. That's why we need to stay vigilant and keep fighting back.

The good news? The courts are increasingly on our side. Let's hope SCOTUS tells New Jersey to kick rocks - again.
