Great news for Second Amendment supporters in the Sunshine State! Gun Owners of America just dropped a major endorsement, throwing their weight behind Congressman Byron Donalds for Florida Governor — and this one matters.
Donalds isn't just talking the talk. Back when he was a freshman state rep, he stood alone against his own party and voted NO on SB 7026, the heavy-handed gun control bill that rammed through the Florida House after Parkland. That's the kind of backbone we need in Tallahassee.
Here's what Donalds committed to in GOA's 2026 survey: He opposes one-gun-a-month restrictions, bans on common rifles like the AR-15, magazine limits, universal background checks, Red Flag confiscation orders, and age-based restrictions on 18-20 year olds. Pretty solid record if you ask me.
But it gets better. Donalds is pushing to expand Constitutional Carry to all law-abiding adults 18 and older, fully repeal Florida's Red Flag law, eliminate the bump stock ban, and beef up preemption laws so woke city councils can't undermine your rights.
As GOA's Florida State Director Luis Valdes put it: "Donalds has made repealing red flag laws 'job one' and understands that the right to keep and bear arms is the ultimate constitutional safeguard of our liberties."
If this guy wins, Florida could become an even stronger fortress for gun rights. I'll be watching this race closely — and you should too.
