The anti-gunners are now pressuring LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman to investigate Turner's and calling for "extra love and attention" from ATF inspectors. They're also pushing for the county's burdensome regulations—like buffer zones and expensive security upgrades—to be imposed on Turner's Torrance location.
Here's what they're not telling you: The shooter mentioned in their propaganda piece passed his NICS background check, waited the mandatory 10 days California requires, and had no legal reason to be denied. He broke no law at the point of sale. The store did everything right.
But that's not the narrative they want you to hear. They want you to believe that law-abiding gun stores are the problem, not criminals who misuse firearms.
The truth is, Brady and their allies know they can't ban guns outright—so they're trying to strangle the industry with regulations and bad press. If they can make examples of successful retailers like Turner's, smaller shops will think twice about staying in business.
The DA seems skeptical, at least for now. He pointed out that ATF has primary jurisdiction over FFLs. But make no mistake: this is just the opening salvo. Expect Brady to keep pushing, keep lying about statistics, and keep trying to make life harder for every honest gun dealer in America.
